Doloc Town Wiki
Doloc Town is a side-scrolling, pixel-art farming sim set in a post-apocalyptic world, developed by RedSaw Games Studio and published by Logoi Games. It entered Early Access on May 8, 2025, and leaves it entirely on August 6, 2026 with a full 1.0 release. Polygon summed it up directly: "we didn't know we needed side-scrolling, post-apocalyptic Stardew Valley. Turns out we do, and it's called Doloc Town."
The Premise
You play a plucky young scavenger fleeing enemies who stumbles upon a small settlement -- Doloc Town itself, a post-apocalyptic sanctuary literally built from the wreckage of derailed trains and collapsed bridges. From there, you build the farm of your dreams from scratch, restoring the environment piece by piece and driving back the extreme weather that threatens it.
Extreme Weather as a Core Mechanic
Acid rain erodes crops, scorching heat bakes the earth, and thunderstorms roll through relentlessly -- but the harshest weather can be turned to your advantage. Harness lightning to power your farm and let torrential rain irrigate your fields, rather than just defending against them passively.
Farming Automation and Drone Combat
Solar and wind power generate clean energy for farming drone stations, unlocking end-to-end automated systems for seeding, nurturing, and gathering. Beyond the farm, you'll explore a genuinely dangerous wilderness with a customizable drone companion -- upgradeable with weapon and lighting modules to fend off hostile creatures during expeditions into abandoned ruins.
Five Distinct Regions to Explore
The world spans the sprawling outskirts, an overgrown River Valley, treacherous Wetlands, mysterious caves, and (added in the 1.0 update) the Old City Ruins -- each with unique resources, enemies, and stories, encouraging genuine exploration rather than a single linear farm-and-forget loop.
What 1.0 Actually Adds
Beyond the new Old City Ruins area (with new enemies, new NPCs, and new side quests), the 1.0 release ties together every system introduced across four major Early Access updates -- Pastoral Waves, Thrive & Ties, Harvest Fusion, and Steam Workshop integration -- which collectively added animal husbandry, fish farming, townie friendship storylines, a gene system, town festivals, and full mod support. The main storyline now runs over 30 hours (up roughly 10 hours from the Early Access version), with total content -- including side quests, friendship storylines, and exploration -- extending past 100 hours.
A Real, Specific Note on Mod Compatibility
Cosmetic and content mods officially recognized in the mod documentation are expected to keep working after 1.0, with older mods supplemented with default values where needed. However, function mods requiring DTMAPI (which alter core game mechanics) are not officially supported under the current mod framework and aren't guaranteed to remain compatible -- the developers specifically recommend uninstalling these before playing 1.0.
