Doloc Town Wiki - FAQ
Is Doloc Town still in Early Access?
Yes, as of this writing -- it entered Early Access on May 8, 2025, and the full 1.0 release arrives August 6, 2026, marking its exit from Early Access.
How long is the game?
Over 30 hours of core main-storyline gameplay in the 1.0 release (roughly 10 hours more than the Early Access version), extending past 100 hours total once side quests, friendship storylines, and exploration are included.
What's new in the 1.0 release?
A brand-new Old City Ruins area (with new enemies, NPCs, and side quests) plus the culmination of four major Early Access updates -- Pastoral Waves, Thrive & Ties, Harvest Fusion, and Steam Workshop integration -- which together added animal husbandry, fish farming, townie friendship storylines, a gene system, town festivals, and full mod support.
Will my mods still work after the 1.0 update?
Officially recognized cosmetic and content mods should keep working. However, function mods requiring DTMAPI (which alter core game mechanics) are not officially supported and aren't guaranteed compatible -- the developers recommend uninstalling these before playing 1.0.
Is there a free demo?
Yes -- it offers roughly 2 hours of gameplay, and its save file carries over directly into the full release.
Is it playable on Steam Deck?
Yes -- it's playable with full controller support, though the developers note they haven't formally optimized for Steam Deck specifically due to development constraints, even though official compatibility testing suggests it runs well.
