Twisted Tower Wiki
Twisted Tower is a first-person action-adventure shooter from Atmos Games, the indie studio led by Thomas Brush (Pinstripe, Neversong), published by 3D Realms (Saber Interactive's publishing label). It launches August 18, 2026 on PC via Steam, following 5 years of development. Repeatedly described by press as "BioShock meets Willy Wonka" or "Disneyland and BioShock," it splices an unsettling funhouse aesthetic with immersive-sim shooting.
A Genuinely Personal Project
Thomas Brush has been direct and sincere about what finishing this game means to him, writing on Steam: "This has been a dream of mine for years... After five long years of blood, sweat, and way too many late nights, it feels surreal... There were plenty of moments I honestly wondered if we'd ever get here." Atmos Games is a small team, and this is Brush's first commercial game that isn't a side-scroller, following the acclaimed 2D titles Pinstripe and Neversong.
The Premise
You play Tiny, an 18-year-old in love with his childhood sweetheart Charlotte -- together, the two shared a passion for The Twisted Tower, a world-famous game show hosted by billionaire toy maker Mr. Twister. Set in an abandoned 1950s theme park, the tower has since fallen into ruin, now crawling with corrupted fairy-tale mascots and deadly traps. Ascending it to confront its demons and uncover its dark secrets is the only way to win back the love of your life.
Confirmed Gameplay
You'll battle legions of corrupted mascots with a wide range of wacky weaponry (each with confirmed secondary fire capabilities), while collecting bizarre toys that let you jump, dash, and grapple through the tower's many levels. GamesRadar's preview specifically praised the traversal emphasis, joking that Twisted Tower should convince other games to "put a grapple in every game." The game features unique paths to discover on repeat playthroughs, adding real replay incentive beyond a single linear ascent.
What the Demo Confirmed
The playable demo begins on the tower's beach and covers its first couple of floors, featuring 4 distinct enemy types, 3 unique weapons (each with secondary fire), and a handful of characters to meet along the way. Reception has been strong: Vice said they needed the full game "in their life now," and PC Gamer N noted "a palpable delight" even at a basic level.
A Note on Content
The game's own content descriptor confirms violence, gore, and blood splatter tied to shooting and killing enemies and monstrous creatures.
