Escape from Tarkov — Overview
Escape from Tarkov reached its official 1.0 release on Steam in November 2025 after years of early access. Players create a PMC (Private Military Contractor) belonging to one of two factions, USEC or BEAR — currently a cosmetic-only choice — and raid maps like Customs, Reserve, and Streets of Tarkov to loot, complete trader quests, and extract. Battlestate has since introduced a Battle Pass-style seasonal wipe system, with the first season, Kord Breach, arriving alongside a planned Unity 6 engine upgrade later in 2026.
