Big Walk — Overview
Big Walk is a cooperative multiplayer "walker-talker" from House House, the Melbourne studio behind Untitled Goose Game, published by Panic. It launches August 4, 2026 on PC (Steam, Mac), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, with full cross-platform play and a day-one spot in the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup, priced at $19.99 with a 25% launch discount at release.
The Core Idea: Communication as Gameplay
Two to twelve friends explore a wide-open bushland world together, solving puzzles and staying in touch using an assortment of tools -- walkie-talkies, megaphones, flares, and stranger items like a big golden head. The entire experience is built around a proximity voice chat system where voices genuinely fade with distance, echo through corridors, and crackle over radios. This isn't a background feature; it's the actual mechanic behind most of the game's puzzles. For the full breakdown of how this works and what puzzle types it enables, see the communication systems guide.
A Real Place, Rebuilt at Scale
The game's world recreates Wilsons Promontory, an actual national park in southern Australia, at a 1:20 scale -- granite mountains, scrubland valleys, rivers, forests, and coastal cliffs, all built from authentic flora captured via lidar scans and on-site research. Full detail on the setting is in the world and setting guide.
No Matchmaking, No Solo Play
There's no matchmaking and no meaningful solo experience -- you bring your own group and play through a hand-crafted, start-to-finish adventure together. House House has compared the intended pacing to a recurring tabletop RPG session, played a few hours at a time with the same people across multiple sittings, rather than something meant to be finished in one sitting.
Beyond the Puzzles
Confirmed puzzle types include miming, code decryption, singing, platforming, and even a basketball-style challenge, but there's just as much room for pure downtime -- sitting to watch a sunset, dancing at an in-game disco, hanging out by a campfire, or just stealing a friend's binoculars and kicking them into the ocean. See the full tools and communication guide for everything confirmed so far.
