Verde Wiki
Verde is a cozy, nature-focused city builder from Jakarta-based Antimeta Studio -- their debut commercial title -- published by Assemble Entertainment, set for release on PC via Steam on August 12, 2026. The game evolved from an award-winning competition prototype into a full commercial release, and has already picked up real recognition ahead of launch, including a GameXcellence Award and a LevelUpKL Audience Choice award.
The Premise
You play as Verde, a green-fingered student at the Mage Academy who recently joined its struggling Gardening Club, tasked with breathing new life into abandoned, forgotten settlements through magic, care, and smart planning. The game deliberately skips stressful micromanagement in favor of gentle resource systems, creative building, and handcrafted visuals -- Antimeta Studio has cited cozy management games like Gourdlets, Minami Lane, and Town to City as reference points for its relaxed approach.
Seedlets: Your Town's Residents
Confirmed as the heart of the game, Seedlets are mysterious, magical seed-like creatures that populate your town. You build houses for them, fulfill their needs, and watch your settlement grow as more Seedlets arrive -- a gentle population loop built around care rather than pressure or optimization.
Three Biomes and Deep Customization
The game confirms three distinct biomes to restore, each introducing new buildings, mechanics, and environmental challenges as you progress. Building customization runs deep, with interchangeable architectural parts and color options letting you genuinely shape the look of your own garden town rather than choosing from fixed presets.
Two Ways to Play
Verde offers both a story-driven campaign and a separate, replayable Sandbox Mode -- letting players either follow Verde's narrative journey through the Gardening Club's restoration efforts, or build freely without story constraints.
A Note on the Game's Origins
Worth knowing: Verde began life as an earlier prototype under the same title and developer, featuring a different specific premise (a town called Dewdrop Valley and a differently-framed storybook narrative). The version releasing commercially on Steam represents the evolved, current design -- the Mage Academy and Gardening Club framing described above reflects the game as it will actually launch.
