The Division Resurgence Guides
Getting Started in The Division Resurgence
- ## Before Your First Mission
- Test each specialization during the tutorial before committing. All 4 starting specializations are available to try early, and since you can freely switch later, there's no reason to lock in in a role you haven't actually played yet.
- For most new players, Demolitionist is a strong starting pick -- its Artillery Turret functions like a second player in solo content, its Seeker Mine automatically handles flanking enemies, and its signature grenade launcher deals serious damage to bosses, all without demanding pinpoint aim.
- ## Gear Priorities
- Don't chase gear rarity before level 20 -- focus on the highest Power Score available instead. Once you hit level 20, Equipment Recalibration and targeted Dark Zone loot open up, and that's when High-End (Gold) gear and Brand Set bonuses actually start to matter.
- ## During Missions and the Dark Zone
- Switch specializations to match the content -- Bulwark and Field Medic earn their keep specifically in group Dark Zone play (a tank holding an extraction point while a medic sustains the squad beats four damage-dealers scrambling against rogues and NPCs at once).
- ## Common Mistakes
- * Ignoring the Armory system -- Tactical Augmentation Modules upgrade an entire weapon model at once, so neglecting this in favor of managing single weapon copies wastes real long-term investment.
- * Walking into the Dark Zone underprepared -- it can end a run in seconds if you're not ready, regardless of how comfortable you feel in standard PvE content.
- * Treating pre-registration and gift-code rewards casually -- they're character-bound to whichever character first claims them, so decide your main specialization before redeeming anything tied to your account.
