Is this a new game, or has it been out for a while?
It's been live since March 31, 2026 on mobile (iOS/Android), with a PC Early Access release via Ubisoft Connect following in April 2026. August 5, 2026 specifically marks its dedicated Steam storefront release -- not the original launch date.
Is it really free-to-play?
Yes, confirmed across all platforms -- mobile, Ubisoft Connect, and Steam.
Does progress carry over between mobile, Ubisoft Connect, and Steam?
Yes -- progression is tied to your Ubisoft Connect account rather than the storefront you're playing through, so signing in with the same account on Steam should carry your existing progress over.
How many specializations (classes) are there?
5 total: Demolitionist, Bulwark, Field Medic, Tech Operator, and Vanguard. 4 are available from the start, with the 5th unlocked through story progression. You can freely switch between them at any time.
Is it available worldwide?
No -- Ubisoft has confirmed the game is not available in Russia, Belarus, China, or Iran, with no localization for some of those regions either.
Is there a Dark Zone like previous Division games?
Yes -- the Dark Zone, a franchise staple since the original 2016 game, returns as extraction-based PvPvE content, alongside the separate Conflict PvP mode.
