Is Ratatan connected to Patapon?
Not officially licensed, but genuinely connected in spirit and creative leadership -- Ratatan is led by Hiroyuki Kotani, the original creator of the Patapon series, and is widely described as its spiritual successor.
Is the game finished, or still in Early Access?
Still in Early Access as of this writing -- it began September 18, 2025 on PC, and the full 1.0 release was postponed from an originally planned July 16, 2026 to October 15, 2026, launching simultaneously across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Why was the release delayed?
Producer Kazuto Sakajiri explained the delay directly: Early Access feedback expanded the game's scope beyond the original plan, and the team needed more time specifically for online multiplayer stability, bug-fixing, and certification across five separate platform configurations.
What is Fever Mode?
A confirmed mechanic triggered by sustaining rhythmic accuracy over time, temporarily enhancing your characters' abilities -- a real strategic goal to build toward during combat, not just an incidental bonus.
How many players can play together?
Online co-op supports up to 4 players, with battles at full scale featuring over 100 characters clashing in a single massive melee.
Will I need to buy the game again when 1.0 releases?
No -- players who purchased Ratatan during Steam Early Access (roughly 100,000 as of the delay announcement) keep their access through the extended development window and into the full 1.0 release at no additional cost.
