Which Ratatan Should You Play First? Harigitta vs. Nyandola vs. Pyokorappa
This isn't a repeat of the Overview page -- it's a closer look at how the confirmed playable characters differ, and how positioning and Fever Mode actually interact, based on official demo materials.
Understanding the Three Confirmed Roles
Harigitta, Nyandola, and Pyokorappa cover three genuinely distinct combat roles, not just cosmetic variations. Harigitta's sword-and-shield kit suits frontline melee and absorbing hits; Nyandola's mid-range attacks reward careful spacing rather than direct confrontation; Pyokorappa's spear-charging kit rewards aggressive, high-offense play. Pick based on which role appeals to you rather than assuming one is strictly stronger.
Positioning Matters as Much as Rhythm Accuracy
Since your squad can be freely moved and positioned during combat, don't treat rhythm-command inputs as the whole game -- deciding where to commit units and when to pull back are confirmed as equally critical tactical decisions. A perfectly-timed command sent to a poorly-positioned unit won't perform as well as a slightly-late command sent to a well-placed one.
Building Toward Fever Mode Deliberately
Fever Mode rewards sustained rhythmic accuracy over time, not just isolated perfect hits -- treat maintaining a clean rhythm streak as a real mid-fight goal you're actively working toward, since the ability boost it grants can meaningfully shift a tough encounter in your favor.
Trying Before Committing
Since the full 1.0 release is still months away (October 15, 2026) and Early Access purchases carry forward with no extra cost, trying the free demo -- covering the tutorial and two full early worlds -- is a genuinely low-risk way to find which character role suits you before buying in.
