PEAK Wiki - FAQ
Is The Final Ascent really PEAK's last update?
Yes -- both Aggro Crab and Landfall have confirmed The Final Ascent is the game's last major content update, completing the biome roster in its intended final form. The game will still receive patches and hotfixes, but no further biomes, cosmetics, or features are planned.
Do I need to buy The Final Ascent separately?
No -- it's confirmed as completely free for all existing owners of PEAK.
What's new in The Final Ascent?
Two new biomes, The Gloom (a fog-covered swamp) and The Citadel (a vertical tower biome with traps and hazards), replacing Caldera and The Kiln in rotation and playable only back-to-back. It also brings a fully-voiced Scoutmaster Myres and a new lurking monster that actively hunts players.
Will PEAK come to consoles?
PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2 ports are confirmed as under consideration and the team's next focus after this update, though no release date has been announced for any platform.
How many players can play PEAK together?
Up to 4 players in co-op, or solo -- the mountain's semi-procedurally generated layout changes with every run.
How did PEAK become so popular?
It began as a roughly four-week game jam project before releasing in June 2025 and selling more than 10 million copies in its first year, earning an Overwhelmingly Positive Steam rating from over 135,000 reviews.
