Navy Mission is a 3D naval shooter developed and self-published by Japanese developer D.IKUSHIMA, released on Steam for $2.00 on July 1, 2026. It's a Steam release of an existing game (originally released as freeware under the Japanese title ネイビーミッション), which had already built a real reputation prior to this release -- Acid-Play once called it "easily the best freeware ever," praising its fast, action-packed gameplay despite modest graphics.
The Premise
You command a single warship, fighting off enemy fleets and aircraft attacking from all directions. Freely moving the view and aiming with the mouse, you switch between three confirmed weapon systems -- the main gun, the Phalanx close-in weapon system, and missiles -- to fend off incoming threats across more than 30 missions.
