Main Gun, Phalanx, or Missiles: Mastering Weapon Switching in Navy Mission
This isn't a repeat of the Overview page -- it's a practical look at using all three weapon systems effectively, based on official materials since the July 1 Steam release.
Match Your Weapon to the Threat, Not Habit
Since enemy fleets and aircraft attack from all directions, don't default to one weapon system out of habit. The main gun, Phalanx, and missiles are each confirmed to serve different roles -- practice recognizing which threat calls for which weapon rather than relying on muscle memory from whichever you used most in earlier missions.
Use the Phalanx for Close, Fast Threats
Given its real-world role as a close-in weapon system, the Phalanx is a natural pick for fast-approaching or close-range threats specifically, while the main gun and missiles cover more standard and longer-range engagements respectively.
Work Through Difficulties Progressively
With four confirmed difficulty levels across 30+ missions, build genuine comfort with weapon-switching at an easier setting before pushing into harder difficulties -- the core skill of reading incoming threats and reacting with the right weapon matters more than raw reflexes alone.
Save the Survival Stage for After You're Comfortable
Since the endless survival stage is confirmed as a separate high-score-focused mode, treat it as something to return to once you've genuinely mastered the core mission mechanics, rather than your first stop.
