Mastering the Split-Attention Mechanic in HITHURT
This isn't a repeat of the Overview page -- it's a practical look at actually managing both characters effectively, based on official materials since the July 1 launch.
Don't Let Your HURT Become an Afterthought
Since your HURT can take damage while your HIT cannot, it's tempting to focus entirely on offense -- but neglecting your HURT's positioning is confirmed as one of the fastest ways to lose. Build a habit of checking your HURT's safety every time you commit your HIT to an aggressive push.
Learn Each Map's Hazards Before Competing Seriously
Since each of the 9 launch maps has its own layout and gimmick -- saw blades, bounce pads, moving blocks -- treat your first few matches on any new map as reconnaissance rather than a real competitive attempt.
Use Your HIT to Disrupt, Not Just Chase
Since you can knock your opponent's HIT around or into hazards, don't think of your HIT purely as a pursuit tool -- using it defensively to interrupt an opponent's offense is a confirmed, legitimate strategy worth practicing deliberately.
Respect the Ice Physics
Since slight ice physics and bouncy walls are confirmed to make sharp movement genuinely important, practice precise stopping and turning specifically -- overcommitting to a slide can leave both your HIT and HURT exposed at once.
