How the Trick System and Combos Actually Work in Denshattack!
This isn't a repeat of the Overview page -- it's a closer look at the trick and combo system the whole game is built around, drawn from official materials and the Tricktionary reference tool.
57 Tricks, One Core Rhythm
Denshattack! is built around flipping, grinding, wall-riding, and combo-chaining -- success depends on timing, clean landings, and keeping momentum alive. With 57 total tricks available across the game, the Garage hub's built-in Tricktionary exists specifically so you're not trying to memorize everything from memory alone -- use it between runs rather than treating trick mastery as pure trial and error.
Landings Matter More Than Ambition
A simpler trick combo executed with a clean landing beats an ambitious one that breaks your momentum -- since combos chain directly off successful landings, prioritizing consistency over flashy complexity is the more reliable way to build score and keep runs going.
Collecting as You Go
Four confirmed collectible categories -- Lucky Charms, Gears, Movie Reels, and Toolboxes -- are tracked separately in the Garage hub. Movie Reels specifically carry real narrative weight, including a demo-exclusive ending accessible only through Movie Reel collection in the free demo.
Bosses Test the Same Fundamentals
Every boss fight in the game builds on the same trick-and-combo fundamentals you learn in regular levels -- see the full boss guide for how each of the 9 chapters' encounters escalate, from Yoshie's mecha-magical-girl transformation in Chapter 1 up through the final VACTRAIN showdown.
