The game's entire setting -- a once-thriving city reduced to ruins after repeated bombings intended to wipe out a zombie outbreak, now known only as the Dead Zone. 350 days after the initial outbreak, remaining survivors fight both the infected and each other over what's left.
Named Districts and Map Variants (from the original game)
The original Last Stand: Dead Zone featured named districts including Alton (a suburb with vendor NPCs) and Brookvale East/West, alongside map variants like Suburban Street, Construction Site, Highway, Warehouse, Department Stores, and Military Bases. These are confirmed features of the game this revival is recreating; not all are confirmed live in the current Early Access build yet.
