Cult of PiN

Cult of PiN Wiki

Cult of PiN is an arcade pinball roguelike from solo Glasgow-based developer KennyMakesGames, self-published on PC, Mac, and Linux, with full native Steam Deck support. It launched its full 1.0 version in August 2026, roughly two years after its original demo first appeared on Steam in August 2024 -- a demo that went on to attract over 120,000 players ahead of the full release.

The Premise

Cult of PiN bridges the nostalgic, physics-driven feel of 90s digital pinball classics like Windows 3D Pinball: Space Cadet with the high-synergy build-crafting of modern deckbuilders like Balatro and Peglin. You clear handcrafted 3D boards by shattering bumpers, hitting mission targets, and taking down gravity-defying Boss Bumpers, all while flipping, nudging, and destroying your way to damage numbers that can scale well into E-number territory.

4 Tables, 8 Balls, 130+ Upgrades

The 1.0 release confirms 4 distinct hand-crafted 3D tables, each with unique layouts, hidden bonus zones, and mission sets, alongside 8 distinct playable balls, each featuring specialized passive mechanics and powerful Rituals to trigger. Between rounds, you draft from an expanding pool of over 130 upgrades -- 100+ Glyphs, 32 Blessings, and 20 Curses -- to build run-winning combos and score multipliers. 14 confirmed unique Boss Bumpers, each with their own passive traits, stand between you and victory, with an Endless Mode available afterward for dedicated highscore chasers.

Real Recognition and a Genuine Solo-Developer Journey

Ahead of launch, GamingOnLinux specifically praised the game as "easily one of the absolute coolest takes on mixing up classic pinball into something new." KennyMakesGames has been direct and personal about the two-year journey from that first demo to full release, thanking the community for their bug reports, feedback, and suggestions throughout -- and has committed to continued day-one support via a dedicated Discord for bug reports and feedback.

Global Leaderboards and Cabinet Support

Two global leaderboards -- Monthly and All-Time -- exist for every table, giving completionists a genuine reason to keep pushing after clearing every table on every difficulty. The game also natively maps to most physical pinball cabinet and VPin controls, though the developer has confirmed further dedicated cabinet quality-of-life settings (adjustable camera angles, HUD offsets, secondary backglass display support) are still planned.
