Do I need to have played the original Cozy Grove?
No -- Camp Spirit is a standalone, complete story with a new cast and setting. A couple of familiar faces (Flamey, Mr. Kit) return, but no prior knowledge is required to follow the plot.
Is the game still tied to real-world time like the original?
Partially, and this is a genuine point of ongoing community discussion. The original Cozy Grove was tightly synced to real-world time (roughly 20-30 minutes of new content per real day). Camp Spirit's demo reportedly felt faster-paced without that same strict lock, though the full release still syncs seasonal events to the real calendar -- whether daily content pacing has been meaningfully loosened overall is still being discussed by the community rather than clearly confirmed either way.
Is there multiplayer?
An asynchronous gift-giving feature lets you send gifts to friends who also play, similar in spirit to Animal Crossing's mail system -- there's no real-time or synchronous multiplayer beyond that.
What's genuinely new compared to the original Cozy Grove?

Camp Spirit first launched on mobile via Netflix Games in June 2024, after Netflix acquired developer Spry Fox in 2022. In December 2025, amid a broader restructuring of Netflix Games, Netflix sold Spry Fox back to founders David Edery and Daniel Cook -- meaning this PC/console release is published independently by Spry Fox itself, not Netflix.
