Beast of Reincarnation — Overview

Beast of Reincarnation is Game Freak's first AAA title outside the Pokemon series -- a one-person, one-dog action RPG built on Unreal Engine 5, directed by Kota Furushima. Set in a post-apocalyptic Japan roughly 2,000 years in the future, it follows Emma, an outcast "Blightborn" who has lost her memories and emotions, and Koo, a stray dog affected by the Blight but not turned hostile. Combat blends Sekiro-style real-time swordplay and parrying with a command-based system for directing Koo's Bloom Art abilities, and progression revolves around defeating colossal boss-rulers called Nushi to absorb their power. The game launches August 4, 2026 (00:00 UTC) on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with day-one Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass availability.
