Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Wiki - FAQ

Do I need to have played the original Black Flag or other Assassin's Creed games?

No -- Ubisoft has confirmed Resynced can be enjoyed as a standalone experience, with no prior series knowledge required, even though some broader narrative threads (particularly the modern-day story) connect to Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Is there multiplayer?

No -- this is confirmed as a single-player-only game. Ubisoft has stated the team is fully focused on delivering the best possible solo experience, with no multiplayer mode included.

Can I still use the Hidden Blade in combat?

Not in open combat -- this is a real, deliberate change from the original. The Hidden Blade is now restricted to stealth takedowns and contextual kills, with swords serving as the primary combat weapon in the reworked, more parry-driven system.

What's included in each edition?

Standard includes the base game. Deluxe adds the Master Assassin Character Pack and Master Assassin Naval Pack. Collector's Edition includes everything in Deluxe plus physical items: an Edward Kenway figurine, a wearable metal brooch, an exclusive SteelBook, and a cloth map. Pre-ordering any edition grants the Blackbeard's Crimson Pack (an exclusive costume, sword, and pistol for Edward).

Is it coming to Nintendo Switch 2?

Not officially confirmed as of this writing -- only PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S have been announced.

Does the eavesdropping mechanic still instantly fail if I'm spotted?

No -- this is a genuine quality-of-life change from the original. Eavesdropping missions no longer immediately desynchronize the moment you're spotted, unlike in the 2013 game.

Is Steam Deck supported?

Yes -- Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is confirmed Steam Deck Verified, and the game also supports software ray tracing options for lower-end devices without a dedicated ray-tracing GPU.
