Wingspan Wiki
Wingspan is Monster Couch's digital adaptation of the award-winning tabletop board game, published alongside original board game creator Stonemaier Games, originally released in 2021 and available across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. It supports 1-5 players, including online and local multiplayer, cross-platform play, and a solo Automa mode.
The Premise
You build and care for your own vibrant nature preserve across three habitats -- forest, grassland, and wetland -- playing bird cards with unique powers drawn from each species' real natural characteristics. Your goal is to attract as many birds as possible and complete a variety of challenges to earn points, competing against other players or the AI-controlled Automa.
Bird Pack: Additional Asian Avians
Released August 3, 2026 for $5.99 across all platforms, Additional Asian Avians is the second of 6 planned "Bird Packs" -- a newer, smaller expansion format distinct from Wingspan's earlier full-sized Expansion DLCs (like Asia Expansion, European Expansion, and Oceania Expansion). It adds 25 fan-designed bird cards inspired by species found across Asia, each with unique abilities and authentic bird songs, spotlighting habitats never previously represented in Wingspan Digital. Purchasing the pack also unlocks an exclusive player portrait: a Great Eared Nightjar.
A Growing Bird Pack Series
Additional Asian Avians follows the first Bird Pack, British Birds, with four more planned to spotlight Continental Europe, New Zealand, and North America. Each confirmed future pack will similarly add 25 new bird cards and its own exclusive player portrait. Players wanting every pack can buy the Wingspan: Bird Packs Season Pass for $24.99, which instantly unlocks both British Birds and Additional Asian Avians while granting automatic access to all remaining packs as they release -- a more affordable route than purchasing each pack individually.
Distinct From the Full Expansion DLCs
Worth understanding clearly: this Bird Pack is separate from Wingspan's earlier, larger Asia Expansion DLC, despite the shared regional theme. Asia Expansion added a full Duet Mode (a dedicated 2-player competitive mode using a special map and tokens), 90 new bird cards, 13 bonus cards, 4 new backgrounds, 8 new player portraits, and 4 original music tracks -- a substantially larger package than a single 25-card Bird Pack.
