The Spirit of Twelve Wiki
The Spirit of Twelve is a 2D old-school active turn-based (ATB) RPG with anime-style character art, from solo developer Jaco Stander, self-published on PC via Steam and built in RPG Maker. The game's Steam listing has shown "Coming Soon" for an extended period, with no specific release date confirmed as of this writing.
The Premise
The story unfolds in the high fantasy kingdom of Nidelium, where one summer night a mysterious object crash-lands and is retrieved by the King and his Wizard. A thief who steals the object mysteriously dies by suicide, and its golden band shatters -- empty. Years later, during the birthday celebration of infant Princess Lilliana, a man named Belor announces himself at the king's court. Unbeknownst to those present, Belor is the half-demon son of the Demon god Agathoel from a parallel realm, obsessed with finding the secrets of a human soul in order to return his dead mother and sister to life -- and he believes the newborn princess, born with a unique spirit, is vital to that obsession. A confrontation with the wizard sends Belor into an alternate realm where, isolated for years, he develops symptoms of advanced delusionary schizophrenia before ultimately escaping with a fully awakened demon eye.
Classic ATB RPG Systems
Players command a party of up to four characters, exploring towns, villages, mines, and fields across a unique fantasy world, interacting with NPCs, fishing, mining, growing herbs, solving puzzles, and fighting side-view ATB battles. Each character has individual strengths, weaknesses, and a unique set of class abilities unobtainable by other classes except through specific items. New spells and equipment are found by visiting shops and skill masters scattered across the game's maps, and every character is aided in battle by a unique summon alongside standard physical attacks and inventory items.
