The Severed Gods Wiki
The Severed Gods is a dark fantasy tactical roguelite RPG from Topebox, a Vietnam-based development team, self-published on PC via Steam. It entered Early Access on August 10, 2026, following a public Chapter One demo released in February 2026.
The Premise
Eight heroes reincarnate in a dark, foreboding world ravaged by colossal Titans, journeying to stop the mystic dragon Umbra and restore order to a land consumed by darkness. You'll fall, rise, and return again and again across three vast explorable worlds, facing hundreds of enemies and colossal, multi-part bosses along the way.
Break, Sever, Master the Vertical Battlefield
The game's genuinely distinctive combat system divides every enemy into Low, Mid, and High body sections, each with its own weaknesses and shields -- striking vulnerable points breaks their defenses, while entering the Break state lets you trigger the Sever mechanic to cut off limbs, weapons, or other parts entirely. Severing doesn't just deal damage: it robs bosses of dangerous abilities and can completely change their combat stance, delivering a genuinely tactical, high-stakes version of dismembering a giant monster piece by piece.
Relics, Reincarnation, and Living Villages
Equipping relics through the Relic-Driven Builds system transforms a character's base abilities into entirely new versions -- adding status effects, triggering multi-hit combos, or unlocking surprising tactical options. The Hero Sigil System lets each hero interact with NPCs differently -- stealing, hiring, learning, or extracting information, each with real consequences. Failure resets the world through a genuine Reincarnation Loop: NPCs change, maps shift, and storylines evolve, while Dynamic Villages see shops, quests, and NPCs adapt between runs based on your past actions.
Early Access Scope and Roadmap
The current Early Access build features 5 playable heroes, 3 explorable worlds, over 100 skills, and more than 80 relics. Topebox has committed to bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements every two weeks, alongside major content updates every one to two months, with the full version planned to introduce more heroes, class systems, special villages, character-specific storylines, and a true ending. The developers have also been direct that pricing will increase once the game leaves Early Access.
A Real, Explicit AI-Content Disclosure
Worth knowing directly: the developers have disclosed that generative AI was used to pre-generate and assist in the creation of certain character icons and UI art elements.
