Tears of Metal offers 4 playable classes.

Wallace (Starting hero / balanced frontline): Available immediately -- a proud Scottish leader with a sword-and-shield kit, generous reach, and reliable crowd-control swings. A near-instant block punishes elite wind-ups fastest, and he's widely recommended as the best hero to learn the game's combat loop on before branching out.

Ruadh Stonecrusher (Unlockable -- frontline / tank): Unlocks by defeating the Banshee boss. A sturdy warrior who can absorb many hits, making him a strong frontline pick alongside or instead of Wallace.

Vanguard Tracker (Unlockable -- flank / elite hunter): Unlocks via a rescue in Act II, Environment 12. Adept at moving from enemy to enemy with technical precision -- the go-to pick for deleting priority targets marked by the team in co-op.
