Sente Wiki
Sente is a simultaneous-turn strategy board game from Argentinian developer Oxobox Games Studios (their debut title), published by Curveball Games, set for release on PC via Steam on August 11, 2026. A free demo is currently available, with the studio actively updating it ahead of launch based on community feedback.
A Genuinely Distinctive Core Mechanic
Most turn-based strategy games let you see an opponent's move before responding. Sente removes that safety net entirely: every player plans and commits their action at the same time, transforming each round into a genuine contest of prediction, deception, and forward planning. Inspired by the clarity and accessibility of Chess and Go, but built around a wholly original ruleset, victory isn't about acting first -- it's about thinking ahead. Players place nodes and build energy networks across the board, trying to predict what an opponent will do before they do it. When a network reaches an opponent's core, it triggers a critical overload -- a chain reaction that can reshape the entire board in an instant.
The Story: Jade vs. the Robots
In Sente's story mode, you play Jade, a determined human dedicated to proving that Sente isn't just a game reserved for highly intelligent robots. Her journey leads her into the Robot Bar, a multi-floor venue packed with AI-controlled opponents, puzzles, tutorials, a tournament, and unique challenges. The single-player campaign received a confirmed voice acting update ahead of launch, bringing many of its characters -- including Jade in the early campaign -- to life.
Built for Replayability
The game supports 1 to 6 players across quick matches, free-for-all clashes, and coordinated team battles, each mode reshaping how the board is played. A custom board editor lets players design entirely new battlefields and export them with shareable codes via the Sente Community Discord, while weekly online challenges reward skins and experience points, and curated puzzle scenarios sharpen tactical thinking outside of standard matches.
An Honest Note on Account Requirements
Worth knowing directly: a real question has come up on the game's own Steam Community hub about why players are asked to register for a separate third-party account system called "Sente Auth" -- a genuine point of community confusion worth being aware of before diving in.
