Roomballs Wiki
Roomballs is a free-to-play sports arcade game from Uruguay-based Ultraton Studios, self-published on PC via Steam and built in Unreal Engine 5, set for release on August 20, 2026. It's confirmed to run great on Steam Deck, and since Steam Deck compatibility automatically extends to the Steam Machine under Valve's current policy, it's confirmed compatible there too.
The Premise
Roomballs blends the thrill of soccer with the chaos of air hockey, putting players in control of small, zany robots resembling a cross between air hockey pucks and miniaturized soccer players -- many inspired by pop culture icons. Victory depends on more than speed and power alone: curved shots, precision passes, turbo boosts, and genuine teamwork all factor into high-octane matches as you fight to become the ultimate Roomball champion.
Flexible Ways to Play
The game supports up to 8 players online, plus up to 4 players in local split-screen co-op -- meaning you can compete purely online, gather friends on the couch, train against bots, or work through solo Cup Challenges. A matchmaking system is confirmed to balance matches to your skill level, keeping competition fair as you climb the ranks.
Deep Customization: 300+ Characters and Skins
Confirmed at over 300 characters and skins, customization runs deep -- unlockable through victories and completed missions using Roombolts, the game's core currency, and further extended through masks, textures, and multiple color channels for genuinely personalized skin combinations. New arenas, game modes, and challenges also open up as you progress and level up.
A Real, Active Pre-Launch Development Process
Ahead of release, Ultraton Studios has been directly transparent about ongoing changes -- including a recent UI overhaul just two weeks before launch that the developers describe as extending across the entire game, not just isolated menu tweaks. The team has actively engaged with its community via Discord throughout development.
