Project Looking Glass

Project Looking Glass Wiki

Project Looking Glass is a lo-fi psychological horror game from solo developer MORPH -- their third game as an independent developer -- self-published on PC via Steam and set for release August 11, 2026.

The Premise

A Cold War experiment has opened a door it cannot close. The year is 1963, and a secret government program called Project Looking Glass has developed technology that projects a subject's consciousness into the astral plane, displayed on cold-war-era cathode monitors. You play Subject 7, a grieving woman recruited specifically for her extraordinary ability to reach further into that plane than anyone before her.

Found Footage and a Real Conspiracy

Built entirely around found footage and a real-life CIA conspiracy running underneath everything, Project Looking Glass is a very lo-fi, slow-burn, voice-acted narrative told with non-linear storytelling. Players step through the Looking Glass -- a first-person psychological horror experience told through the static of a Cold War-era apparatus peering into places mankind was never meant to reach. The game confirms multiple endings and choose-your-own-adventure elements, shaped by choices made along the way.

Real Inspirations, Real Critical Attention

MORPH has cited P.T., The Stanley Parable, and LSD Dream Emulator as direct inspirations. Ahead of launch, outlet INDIEBASE described the combination of Cold War intrigue, CIA experiments, a grieving mother, and the astral plane as making for "a strikingly bold horror premise," while GAMEBIZ noted the game pursues an experience "somewhere between P.T. and The Stanley Parable," marked by its lo-fi texture and liminal spaces.
