Panzer Knights: Commander's Edition
Panzer Knights: Commander's Edition Wiki
Panzer Knights: Commander's Edition is an anime-inspired WWII tank simulation from developer Joy Brick, published by PQube. The original Panzer Knights first launched in Early Access for PC via Steam on October 6, 2020, followed by a full release on May 19, 2021, with an English text option added via PQube in 2024. Commander's Edition marks the series' debut on current-generation consoles, launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on August 13, 2026, with a physical PS5 edition also available.
The Premise
Take command of a German Panzer platoon and lead your forces through the chaos of World War II, blending hardcore tank strategy with anime-inspired visuals -- advancing from the invasion of Poland in 1939, through the Battle of France, to Operation Barbarossa on the Eastern Front. Engage in explosive third-person combat across the battlefields of Europe, loading specialized ammunition, targeting enemy weak points, and calling in tactical support as you adapt to an ever-changing front line.
Assembling Your Crew and Arsenal
Between missions, you visit camp to assemble an elite crew handpicked from 30 original recruitable characters, each with their own skills and progression paths that directly affect battlefield performance. The garage holds an extensive tank roster -- from the nimble Panzer III to the mighty Tiger I -- each with unique stats, armor profiles, and authentic camouflage patterns. Missions include primary objectives and optional challenges, alongside dedicated bonus missions for earning crew and garage upgrades, plus a customizable Skirmish Mode for standalone encounters.
The Definitive Console Edition
Commander's Edition is confirmed as the definitive version of the game, bundling the base experience together with three additional bonus content packs. These add the Allied M4-748 Sherman, M26 Pershing, Churchill VII, and Valentine XI, alongside the Axis's long-range Elefant tank destroyer and the super-heavy Panzer VIII Maus -- joining the existing German armor lineup for a genuinely expanded roster right out of the gate.
