Omen Wiki
Omen is a top-down sci-fi extraction shooter and the debut title from Codex Interactive, a four-person indie studio based in the Pacific Northwest, self-published on PC via Steam and set for release August 11, 2026. A free demo covering the opening first act has been available since February 5, 2026.
The Premise
Still traumatized by the catastrophic destruction of the Second Great Collapse, the surviving Voidborn cling to life aboard whatever megastations remain among the Shattered Systems. Now, an otherworldly calamity known as The Veil threatens what's left, hailed by an army of cultists intent on inciting total war to claim power. You play an Astral, an immortal starship pilot sent to investigate The Veil, explore and loot the war-torn remains of the fallen Samarin Empire, and shore up a defensive front against waves of pirates, opportunistic traitors, and savage cultists.
Extract, Defend, Discover
Omen combines base defense combat, ship customization, item crafting, and extraction looter mechanics into a genuine cross-genre experience. At the start of the game, you discover a derelict monastery suitable enough to use as your base -- interacting with local NPCs there to claim missions, customize your ship, and build new weapons ahead of future raids. As a prime target for the forces of the Veil, defending the Monastery's own fortifications is confirmed as essential to survival against brutal enemy onslaughts.
A Four-Act Structure Across a Fallen Empire
Every region of the Samarin Empire is confirmed to offer unique challenges, quests, and loot as you delve deeper into the burning remains of what was once a great civilization, discovering Omen's confirmed four-act structure along the way.
