Character Customization in Lies of P

There is no character creation process in Lies of P -- you play as Pinocchio, a puppet with a fixed appearance designed by Geppetto, and cannot alter his base look.

What you can customize is his clothing: Outfits (roughly 14-19 depending on version) plus separate accessory slots for headgear and glasses, which can be equipped independently of each other since a November 2023 patch.

All costume pieces are purely cosmetic -- outfits and accessories provide zero stat changes or gameplay effects, existing entirely for style.

Outfits are unlocked by defeating certain enemies (including optional mini-bosses), exploring specific hidden locations, and progressing key story beats -- some require real effort to track down, like Someone’s Memory, obtained by first talking to Antonia and then defeating the Survivor mini-boss.

You can change outfits at any time from the Costumes tab in the equipment menu -- no need to return to a specific location or wait for a checkpoint.
