Feed or Hold? Mastering the Card-Feeding Tension
This isn't a repeat of the Overview page -- it's a practical look at the core feed-or-hold decision and reading enemy intents, based on official materials since the demo's May 4 launch.
There's No Universally Correct Choice
Since feeding cards for immediate effects and holding them for a stronger poker hand are both confirmed as genuinely valid strategies, judge each decision situationally rather than defaulting to one approach every time. An urgent threat might demand immediate feeding; a stable position might reward patience.
Read Enemy Intents Before Reacting
Since 12 confirmed enemy intents go beyond simple attacks -- including deck disruption, card weakening, and machine disabling -- pay attention to what's telegraphed before deciding your response, since the wrong reaction to the wrong threat type can cost you more than expected.
Try Both Named Gamblers Early
Since the Iron Veteran and High Roller are confirmed to offer genuinely different starting weapons and playstyles, don't judge the whole game by your first character choice -- try both to find which approach to the feed-or-hold tension suits you.
Use the Demo to Learn Machine Behavior
Since the demo is confirmed to represent the current, actively-updated build, spend real time there learning how different machines respond to fed cards before the full release.
