IGNOBLE is a brutal incremental beat-'em-up platformer from developer Retromagine, published jointly with Gamersky Games, targeting a Q3 2026 release on PC via Steam. A free public demo has been available since February 2026, with the game undergoing a major overhaul ahead of a Steam Next Fest appearance in June 2026.
The Premise
Destroy enemies and harvest their blood, bones, and marrow to grow stronger, unlocking forbidden skills as you work to wipe out the Ignoble tyrants who dare threaten your master. Rather than rewarding careful, methodical strategy, the game explicitly encourages fighting fast: the quicker you kill, the more blood you harvest, and the more power you gain to face down still greater numbers of enemies.

Combat unfolds as a genuine race against time -- harvest everything you can before the clock runs out, growing your stats through an ever-expanding skill tree and equipping powerful ability cards to build your own deck for punishing the Ignoble. Devastating combos and rare, forbidden powers await players willing to awaken them in service of their master, all while permadeath and repeated runs are confirmed as fundamental to the intended loop -- expect to die often, and to come back monstrously stronger each time.
Real Reception and Active Development
A Japanese reviewer described the game as a delightfully mad roguelike built around mincing enemies for blood and bones while endlessly inflating your stats, noting it's easy to pick up for a few minutes yet strangely hard to put down. SteamDeckHQ similarly called it a weird, effective incremental roguelike that rewards fast, aggressive play over pure strategy. Ahead of its June 2026 Next Fest appearance, Retromagine gave the game a major overhaul -- improving combat readability, reworking the UI, smoothing out progression, adding new enemies, and introducing achievements, including specifically named ones like "Killing in the Name Of" and "Wall Painter" that players have found genuinely challenging to fully complete.
