Homeostasis is a short retro survival horror game from solo Czech developer Gasimo, self-published on PC via Steam and set for release August 10, 2026.
The Premise
The stars aren't quite right, and there's no one left to ask why. You navigate a desolate Antarctic snowscape alone in a retrofitted off-road vehicle issued by an organization called ARPC, tasked with a mission that sounds straightforward: visit a series of decommissioned research sites and recover old survey data on the region's habitability. The previous team already did the hard work -- you're just picking up what they left behind. Except the instruments show things that don't add up, and whatever happened here, the snow hasn't buried all of it.
First-Person Survival in Total Isolation
Confirmed as a short, atmospheric, first-person experience, the game blends driving, exploration, resource management, and puzzle-solving as you keep your vehicle's systems running while investigating the fate of the expedition that came before you. ARPC explicitly reminds you not to leave the mission area -- a rule that, in a game built around dread and isolation, feels less like bureaucracy and more like a warning.
