Happy's Humble Burger Cult

Happy's Humble Burger Cult Wiki

Happy's Humble Burger Cult is a first-person co-op cooking horror game for 1-4 players from Scythe Studios, published by tinyBuild. It launched July 16, 2026 on PC via Steam, as a direct successor to 2021's acclaimed indie horror hit Happy's Humble Burger Farm, set within the same interconnected Scythe Saga Universe.

A Real, Important Rename Worth Knowing

This game was originally announced on June 11, 2026 under the name Happy's Humble Burgatory, and was marketed under that name right up until shortly before launch -- the official Steam listing itself now explicitly notes "formerly Burgatory." If you're searching for the game under either name, you're looking for the same title; this page reflects its final, current name as it actually launched.

The Premise

You and your crew are hired to participate in an experiment run by the mysterious Paragon Corporation. It sounds like a standard fast-food gig -- grill burgers, fry sides, pour drinks, work the register, hit your quota, and keep the customers happy -- but every shift runs on a ticking clock, and the kitchen always wins eventually. Once the corporate simulation collapses, Asset Joy, the franchise's terrifying returning mascot, breaks containment and begins hunting you down. Escape alive, and your hard-earned cash comes with you.

A Genuinely Distinctive Mechanic: The Game Listens

Happy's Humble Burger Cult actively reacts to what you say over voice chat. Speak the wrong word, and you risk alerting Asset Joy directly to your location; speak the right incantation, and the kitchen itself can warp in your favor. Learning which words are useful and which are better left unsaid becomes a genuine, ongoing part of surviving each shift.

35+ Modifiers Keep Every Shift Different

No two shifts play out the same way, thanks to more than 35 confirmed gameplay modifiers. Rush Hour floods the restaurant with extra customers for a more profitable but far more chaotic shift. Profanity Policy punishes the whole team whenever someone swears over voice chat. Back Burner changes recipes mid-run, while Midmaxxing disrupts appliance cooking temperatures -- each modifier genuinely changes how a given shift needs to be approached.

Spending What You Survive With

Earnings that make it out of a shift with you can be spent on game-changing boosters, gambled on higher-stakes contracts for bigger payouts, or sacrificed to a dark ascension ritual that pushes the game's underlying story forward -- giving real, meaningful weight to what you choose to do with hard-earned cash rather than treating it as a simple scorekeeping number.
