Flats Full of Cats Wiki - FAQ
Is Flats Full of Cats free to play?
The base game is free, including the complete first floor with 3 flats. Additional themed DLC floors are sold separately for $1.99 each, and players can buy only the ones that interest them.
How many play modes are there?
Three confirmed modes: Normal Mode (300 detailed, theme-matched cats), Expert Mode (300 cats in a more minimalist style for experienced players), and the optional, replay-focused Time Attack Mode (a timed mix of 100 cats per apartment, not required for story completion).
How much DLC content is planned?
9 themed DLC floors are confirmed over the following 12 months, each adding 3 apartments, 10 rooms, 600 cats, a themed quest, and 60 hidden items. 8 floor names are confirmed so far: Stars & Oysters, Bugs & Bolts, Gold & Candles, Capes & Curses, Potions & Masks, Springs & Cogs, Stairs & Tails, and Spines & Stones.
Do I need to buy every DLC floor?
No -- each floor is confirmed as fully independent, with its own theme, story, and apartments, so you can buy only the ones that interest you.
Are there achievements in the DLC floors?
No -- Steam Achievements are confirmed to be tied only to the free base version, a deliberate choice by Devcats to keep progression consistent given how frequently new DLC floors will release.
Is this connected to other Devcats games?
Yes -- it's the 9th entry in the studio's Full of Cats series, following 8 prior games since the original A Building Full of Cats four years earlier, though no prior knowledge is needed to enjoy it.
