How to Approach Romance, Marriage, and Secret Candidates in 1.0

This isn't a repeat of the Overview page -- it's a practical look at approaching the expanded relationship system, based on official materials since the August 5 1.0 launch.

Don't Rush Into Committing to One Candidate

Since you can build hearts with more than one candidate simultaneously, use your early game to genuinely explore compatibility across a few options before narrowing down who to pursue toward marriage. The 10-heart system rewards sustained attention, so switching focus too many times later costs real progress -- better to explore broadly early, then commit.

Treat Secret Candidates as Real Long-Term Goals

Since Seridia specifically requires reaching level 100 in the mines plus getting both Juniper and Eiland to 8 hearts, don't expect to stumble into her route casually -- plan your mining and dual-relationship progress deliberately if you're aiming for her specifically. Caldarus, similarly, isn't part of the immediately visible base roster.

Learn Gift Preferences Early, Especially for Unusual Candidates

Since most candidates favor typical gifts like baked goods and flowers but Seridia specifically prefers items showcasing battle prowess, don't assume a one-size-fits-all gifting strategy -- check preferences per candidate rather than defaulting to whatever worked for someone else.

Invest in the Shared Skill Tree Deliberately

Since the same skill tree powers both farm-speeding spells and combat magic, don't treat farming progression and dungeon progression as separate tracks -- investing here pays off in both halves of the game simultaneously, including making mine progress toward Seridia's unlock condition faster.
