Dwarven Rampart Wiki
Dwarven Rampart is a fantasy roguelite strategy game blending city-building, tower defense, and deck-building, from developer Alaabale, self-published on PC via Steam. A free demo is available, though a specific full release date has not yet been confirmed.
The Premise
Build your dwarven town, raise massive armies, and choose your enemies to fight in real-time battles against thousands of foes -- the game's central question is simple: how long can you survive? Quick sessions let you get right into the action, growing your city without heavy micromanagement, with adjustable speed and active pause available at any time to play at your own pace.
A Real Card-Based Building System
You build your deck of dwarves and buildings, spawning them onto the battlefield if you have their cards and enough resources -- but you only keep what you can successfully defend. Buildings synergize together to generate more resources across 5 confirmed main resource types, each with multiple ways to collect or grow them. Duplicated cards don't go to waste either: they convert into efficiency and health boosts for your buildings, or survivor-style upgrades for your dwarves.
The Demo: Tribes, Perks, and Charming Chaos
The current demo covers the game's first biome, featuring 3 starter dwarven tribes and 10 perks to choose from. Your minion dwarves love looting treasures, though the game notes they "always fail" at it -- a genuinely charming bit of self-aware humor. Defense comes down to whatever works: castle walls, dwarven shields, or, in a pinch, simply throwing dwarves at the problem.
