Duskfade Wiki - FAQ
Is there a demo?
Yes -- available as a separate Steam listing, recently updated with over an hour of additional platforming content. It covers a condensed first level and culminates in a real boss fight against Wrath. It's currently Very Positive (91% of 574 lifetime reviews).
How long is the game?
Based on the developer's own playtesting, a full playthrough runs 15-20 hours depending on how thoroughly you pursue secrets.
Does the game use AI-generated content?
No -- Weird Beluga has stated directly and unambiguously that they stand against using AI in development, saying every part of the game was crafted by hand.
What inspired Duskfade?
The developers have named their influences directly: Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank for gameplay, Kingdom Hearts for art and mood, Mario Odyssey and Astro Bot for platforming feel, and the Souls series and Alice: Madness Returns for how combat and narrative blend together.
Are the levels open-world or linear?
Linear, for both the story and individual levels -- but every setting hides genuine secrets that may require an ability unlocked later in the game to reach, making backtracking a real, intended part of progression.
What is a Time Rift?
A dedicated challenge hidden within each setting, separate from the main story, specifically testing your combat and platforming mastery.
