Combat and events use dice rolls and card pulls rather than direct RTS control, so expect some run variance — don't be afraid to reload if an early encounter goes badly, since encounters are short.
Track your Notoriety, Empire, Seafaring, and Wealth progression stats to understand what unlocks new options as your colony grows.
