Avowed — Overview
Avowed is Obsidian Entertainment's first-person action RPG set in the Living Lands, a spin-off of the Pillars of Eternity series. There are no locked classes — just Fighter, Ranger, and Wizard skill trees you can freely mix into any build you like, with your background choice at character creation affecting dialogue, starting weapon, and attribute spread without restricting what you can become. Four companions (Kai, Giatta, Marius, Yatzli) join your party and are all non-missable, reacting to your choices throughout. Released in February 2025, it received its Anniversary Update patch in February 2026, adding new playable races and expanded New Game Plus options.
