Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game FAQ
How many characters are playable at launch, and how many more are coming?
12 at launch: Aang, Korra, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Toph, Azula, Zaheer, Kyoshi, Ozai, plus separate Avatar State variants of Aang and Korra. A Year 1 Pass adds 5 more (Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin, and a 5th chosen by community vote among Tenzin, Kuvira, Amon, King Bumi, and Asami Sato), bringing the eventual total to 17. A free DLC character, Tagah, is also confirmed for Fall 2026, separate from the paid pass.
Do the original TV show voice actors return?
Almost entirely no -- the entire cast has been newly recast for this game, with Vaatu confirmed as the sole exception whose original TV voice actor reprises the role. Reviewers who expected voices like Dante Basco (Zuko) or Mae Whitman (Katara) should know going in that this is a new cast.
What's the difference between Standard and Digital Deluxe editions?
Standard includes the base game and all 12 launch fighters. Digital Deluxe ($49.99) adds the full Year 1 Pass, exclusive alternate color variants for Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, and Sokka, a digital soundtrack, and a digital artbook. Pre-ordering Digital Deluxe specifically grants voting rights for the 5th Year 1 Pass character.
Is the game actually finished at launch?
Not entirely, based on early community feedback -- some character animations are unfinished, combo trials don't work correctly, there are graphical bugs on Intel drivers, and features like ranked play, multi-person lobbies, spectating, and basic display options (windowed mode, resolution scaling) were reportedly missing at launch. Check current patch notes before assuming a specific feature is live.
Why did the ESRB rating change?
The game was originally on track for a Teen rating -- which would have made it only the fifth Nickelodeon game ever to receive that rating -- but later trailers and storefront listings confirmed it was lowered to Everyone 10+ ahead of release.
Is there a single-player story mode?
Yes -- an original story co-written by series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino and writer Tim Hedrick, built around an unusual alternate-timeline premise rather than a typical tournament framing. Arcade Mode also offers unique short storylines for each individual fighter.
