Agent 64: Spies Never Die Tips & Tricks
Before Your First Mission
Try the free demo first if it's still available -- it ran for years throughout development and gave players a genuine, evolving look at the game (including split-screen support added in 2023 and online play added in 2025) before the final August 11 release.
Start every mission on Agent difficulty first, even if you consider yourself skilled -- since higher difficulties add genuinely new objectives and open areas rather than just tougher enemies, learning a mission's base layout first pays off before attempting Special Agent or 64 Agent.
Adjusting to One-Life Missions
There are no checkpoints or mid-mission healing -- going down means restarting from the beginning. Treat early attempts at any mission as reconnaissance: learn enemy placement and objective locations on a "doomed" run rather than expecting to clear it clean the first time.
Chasing Par Times
Beating a mission's par time unlocks Paradox Mode content -- if you're aiming for these, prioritize a clean, fast, low-risk route through a mission over full exploration, since speed is being directly measured and rewarded here.
Setting Up Multiplayer
If you're playing locally, remember four-player split-screen is supported directly -- no need for multiple systems. For online play, take advantage of full lobby customization (teams, weapon sets, rule sets, Paradox modifiers) and save your favorite configurations as presets rather than rebuilding them each session.
Common Mistakes
- Rushing straight to 64 Agent difficulty on your first attempt at a mission -- you'll likely face objectives and areas you haven't been introduced to yet on lower difficulties.
- Ignoring Contracts as just repeat content -- they carry their own distinct objectives and Paradox unlock rewards, not just a remix for its own sake.
