Academy: Become a Hero

Academy: Become a Hero Wiki

Academy: Become a Hero is a high-speed precision platformer self-published on PC via Steam, focused on mastering short, intense stages under strict time pressure. The developer is not officially credited by name in available sources at time of writing.

The Premise

This is a game about learning a fixed challenge and improving your performance until every movement is precise -- you will fail a lot, then you will improve. You control Troid, the game's confirmed named playable character, across 19 mastery stages with strict countdowns ranging from 30 to 128 seconds each.

Time Pressure and Mandatory Collectibles

Reaching the end of a stage isn't enough -- you must collect key items to unlock the goal, all under constant time pressure, adding a genuine layer of route-planning on top of raw movement execution. Precision movement is confirmed to include jumping, double jumping, wall jumping, dashing, sprinting, and charged jumps, all designed for fast, exact execution.

Pure Skill-Based Progression

Confirmed as entirely completable through pure skill, the game rewards strong performance with medals that unlock optional upgrades -- no content is gated behind anything but your own execution. Global leaderboards let you compete for the best times and scores across every stage and difficulty.

An Exceptionally Detailed AI-Content Disclosure

Worth knowing directly: the developer has published a genuinely thorough, itemized AI-use disclosure. Generative AI tools were used to create all 2D illustrations, UI elements, icons, and menus, which were then edited and refined for final integration; the main character Troid and its skeletal meshes were created using Meshy under a valid commercial license; localization across all supported languages was AI-assisted; and for the introductory cinematic, AI was used specifically to modulate and process the developer's own original voice recordings into distinct, characterized voiceovers.
