The Global Defense Force (GDF) is the clear recommendation for a first faction — its roster of standard infantry, tanks, and helicopters plays like a classic, balanced RTS army without a specific gimmick you need to master first.

Once you're comfortable, Tempest Dynasty offers a higher-tempo alternative: faster, more mobile units powered by Tempest energy, at a higher cost than GDF's roster.

The Veti are the most mechanically distinct faction, built around converting dead soldiers into a spendable resource called Enlightened — a great third faction to learn once you understand the game's basics, though their full campaign requires the separate Veti's Wrath expansion.
