Player Economy Guide -- Soulbound: Online
Soulbound: Online runs a player-driven economy where gold funds crafting and upgrades, PixelBay handles peer-to-peer trading, and an Automated Market Maker (AMM) at the Arcadia DeSat Bank hosts liquidity pools that pay out Gold Bonds over time.
Gold enters the economy through Pioneer Guild contracts, quest rewards, dungeon chests, vendor sales, and player trades. It exits through Gearforging fees, station rentals, contract board refreshes, upgrade costs, and marketplace purchases.
PixelBay vs. the AMM: these are two separate, coexisting trading systems. The AMM pools swap commodities and gold algorithmically based on liquidity ratios; PixelBay is the peer marketplace where players list specific items directly. Some players have asked for a dedicated Auction House as an alternative to the AMM for large-item trades, to avoid slippage swings from constant price monitoring.
Gold Bonds are earned by providing liquidity to the AMM and can be traded player-to-player; they redeem into gold through the NPC Clyde at the DeSat Bank.
A practical early-game loop: forage plants in the Virelda Outskirts, either sell them through instant exchange NPCs or cook them into vendor food (which sells at a higher margin), and stack Pioneer Guild contracts along the same route.
Neither gold nor Gold Bonds are redeemable for real money -- both are in-game currencies only, per the developer stated economy rules.
