Character Customization in Ragnarok: The New World

Character customization starts at creation, where you choose hairstyle, face, and outfit before ever picking a class -- appearance and class/job choice are handled completely separately.

Outfits and dyes: the game advertises hundreds of outfits, with a separate dye system for fabric colors that multiplies the number of visual combinations without needing a unique costume file for every color variant. This lets you coordinate colors with a guild uniform, class theme, pets, or mounts.

Headgear as its own slot: continuing a long-running Ragnarok tradition, headgear (hats, masks, wings, novelty items) is treated as a distinct customization layer from armor itself, so your hat/mask choice does not have to match your outfit choice.

Ongoing unlocks: appearance options continue to expand as you complete missions, not just at character creation -- new hairstyles, faces, and outfits are earned through play over time.

The result, per the developers, is meant to let the same character read as very different personas -- a formal Knight one day, an eccentric adventurer or stylish Bard the next -- purely through cosmetic choices layered on top of whatever class you are actually playing.
