Getting Started in Phasmophobia

  1. Always bring at least one EMF Reader — it's one of the most information-dense pieces of equipment and works well left in the Ghost Room on camera view.
  2. Keep areas lit where you can — there's a 'light budget' on the map, and lit areas help prevent sanity from dropping as fast.
  3. During a hunt, active Thermometer, Parabolic Microphone, DOTS Projector, Motion Sensor, and Sound Sensor are safe to hold, but audio/light equipment like Flashlights, EMF Readers, or Spirit Boxes can alert the ghost to your presence.
  4. Head-Mounted Cameras don't take a hand slot and are especially useful for a player staying back in the truck to guide teammates through dark maps.
