Character Customization in Lords of the Fallen
Unlike many Soulslikes, Lords of the Fallen has real character creation with sliders, not just a fixed protagonist: 2 body types, a body shape slider ranging between slim, bulky, and large, plus separate Head and Torso customization tabs.
Face customization covers eyes, ears, nose, chin, and general head shape, alongside 21 preset skin tones with additional Hue, Saturation, and Brightness sliders if none of the presets match what you want.
Tattoos can be placed on specific body parts (chest, back, either arm, either leg) from a wide selection of designs, and age can be adjusted purely cosmetically -- an older-looking character does not change your stats.
None of these appearance choices (gender, body type, hairstyle, etc.) affect gameplay in any way -- they are purely cosmetic, separate entirely from your class choice, which determines starting stats and equipment instead.
Appearance is not locked in forever: the Chrysalis Rebirth system lets you revisit character creation mid-game to change your look without starting over, addressing what had been a common community request for more flexibility.
