IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator Guides
Getting Started in IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator
- ## Before Your First Shot
- Try the free demo first. A separate IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator Demo is available on Steam (originally built for Steam Next Fest), and it's the fastest way to learn the teleprinter-to-trigger loop before committing to the full release.
- Expect a genuinely mechanical, unhurried pace -- this is not a fast-twitch shooter. Reading orders correctly off the teleprinter and taking accurate map measurements matters more than reaction speed.
- ## Learning the Firing Loop
- Every shot follows the same sequence: read the teleprinter for coordinates and orders, measure your target's position on the tactical map, run the numbers through the ballistic calculator for range and elevation, then physically lay the gun with the hydraulic levers before firing. Rushing any one step is the most common way to waste a shell on a miss.
- ## Ammunition Matters
- With around 30 unlockable shell types -- armor-piercing, high-explosive, smoke, chemical, and incendiary among them -- picking the correct round for a given order is as important as your aim. An armor-piercing round wasted on a soft target, or vice versa, is a real tactical mistake, not just a stat difference.
- ## A Genuine Performance Heads-Up
- Check your GPU thermals during extended sessions. Pre-launch community feedback has repeatedly flagged the game running unusually hot regardless of graphics settings or frame cap -- the developers have not confirmed a fix as of the last pre-launch build, so this is worth monitoring rather than assuming your hardware is at fault.
