## Before Your First Match
Your first job isn't chasing kills -- it's joining an active squad, picking a role you can actually support, and confirming your microphone and push-to-talk controls work. Since matches run on a real chain of command, a new player who communicates and follows the squad's plan is more valuable early on than one chasing solo eliminations.
Join an existing infantry squad rather than creating your own to lead -- your first live match is a poor time to learn every command tool while a team waits on you.
## Understanding Faction Asymmetry
Don't assume the US and NVA play the same way with different skins -- their available logistics, movement options, and overall approach genuinely differ. Read up on faction-specific strengths (helicopters for the US, tunnels for the NVA) before committing to a logistics-heavy or faction-specific role.
## Measuring Your Own Value
Don't use kill count as the only measure of whether you're contributing -- an action that lets your squad spawn safely, hold a position, or communicate effectively can matter more to the match than one additional elimination.
## Common Mistakes
* Expecting a single-player or bot-filled experience -- this is confirmed multiplayer-only, with no campaign or offline mode at all.
* Copying the enemy faction's movement patterns without thinking -- since logistics and mobility genuinely differ between the US and NVA, tactics that work for one side may not transfer directly to the other.
